The Woodstock Independent: Organic Growth Drives FLOCON

02.07.2019

Flocon Inc. operates in Woodstock from two buildings covering 670,000 square feet on a 58-acre campus with only modest signage, where last July it completed a nearly year-long move from Cary.

The company also has a 50,000-square-foot facility in Harvard, Flotek, as well as a plant in Frankfort and a joint venture in Scotland.

While Flocon has been operating under the radar, the 30-year-old McHenry County business is getting ready to raise its profile.

“We’re low-key by nature,” Vice President Steve Ballot said during a recent interview at the company headquarters along the south side of McConnell Road. “We’ve just been so focused on our core customers for years. … We’re going to get out of our shell a little bit.”

Even if you’ve never heard of Flocon, there’s a good chance you have one of its products in your home.

Flocon makes fluid-dispensing devices – pens, spray heads, mist applicators, and pumps. If you’ve used a dispenser pen to erase a spot from your shirt or cover a scratch on a table top or car surface, Flocon has probably been in your life.
